La tenista española, Carla Suárez Navarro, ha anunciado mediante un comunicado en su cuenta de Twitter que le han diagnosticado el Linfoma de Hodgkin, una clase de cáncer que daña el sistema linfático.
Suárez ha detallado que se dará de baja del tenis durante seis meses, ya que tendrá que someterse a una quimioterapia.

Dicha enfermedad, suele manifestarse con síntomas como sensación de cansancio, fiebre, sudores o pérdida de peso y apetito. La tasa de supervivencia a cinco años es cercana al 86%. No es un caso aislado en el mundo de los famosos, ya que recientemente Dani Rovira anunciaba que se había curado.
Ella misma ha protagonizado el vídeo de la noticia, que en breves instantes se ha vuelto viral, recibiendo así el apoyo desde varias partes del mundo, tanto con mensajes en español y en inglés por parte de otros personajes destacados del mundillo deportivo.
